How many days are included in this Scope and Sequence?
The school year is divided into 4 terms in this Scope and Sequence. Each term has 2 units, for a total of 8 units.
Units range from 17 days to 25 days. The total number of days for this Scope and Sequence is 174 days. This will allow for days when unexpected plans arise (assemblies, field trips, testing, etc…)
How long is each lesson?
One hour, 5 days a week

Each Term is split into two units, and the units within a term share common themes/topics, which include:
- Term 1 (Units 1 and 2): The Immigrant Experience and immigrant’s rights according to Canada’s Charter of Rights and Freedoms
- Term 2 (Units 3 and 4): The Rainforest
- Term 3 (Units 5 and 6): Professional athletes as leaders of social change
- Term 4 (Units 7 and 8): Food Deserts
